The 3rd episode is with Farzana Nooren, who is a Psychotherapist that has her own practice and works for the NHS. How I got in contact with her was through my Instagram. She had expressed to me that she would love to share her journey through my platform. After a couples of convocations, I had asked how she has been using art in her work and how this workshop will help her.  She says, she learning more about how “mental health is dealt within the Pakistani communities”.

Artwork

This art work is created by Yumna, who is 18 years old, based in Pakistan. Due to her exams she could not complete, but I love the fact she has put the effort to still send it over. Yumna has use illustrations as that is her main skill set.

The key words that Farzana has expressed in the artwork, Colourful, and a good representation of a Pakistani women. The negative feedback that I had got from this art work is that Farzana couldn’t understand of how that represented her, as she has never have been a victim of child marriage or her family has never done that.

I completely understand where the negative feedback came from, as I myself looked at Farzana’s answers and she hasn’t written anywhere about child Marriage or anything personal relating to her family. I have taken this on board and I understand both parties side. Yumna has rushed the work which she has expressed and Farzana couldn’t understand why this represented her.

Overview

Overall, the instgram live went quite well. The turnout of it was quite amazing. I had spoken about different topics with Farzana, from Childhood, Mental Health in the Pakistani community, Life, Education and what she is working on right now. We had even spoken about her family which was quite amazing to learn about. She had shared her story with me in the most amazing and carfree way, in which I am thankful for. I am happty that she had some questions for me to answer. However we did not get to ask the audience for any questions as the live was going over time.
