Invention with Auntie Nazia

Due to Corona virus and my mother falling quite ill, I had decided to come back to Birmingham till further notice. Now that I am back in Birmingham with the rest of my extended family indoors, I thought this would be the perfect time to seek out more information about Peer Saab in the family.

One evening I had called up my aunt for an informal conversation and explained my project to her with the help of my mission statement. She spoke with such passion about of why we should believe in them and how she leant most information. How she has learnt from her mother and other family members.

What I learnt:

  • All the different shrines in Pakistan and the meaning of them
  • The family line of Peers
  • What is the differences between peer and fakir

After this conversation, I feel like I have got to learn more about my own religion and culture. Leaning about what a fakir is has changed my point of view a little but I do know that during the conversation we had gone off topic. We were talking more about Fakirs then Peers. However I know now how Peers and fakir are connected in one way.
